Learn how to create abstracts and landscapes using encaustic art tools such as an iron and scribing tool.
Encaustic art is an ancient hot-wax painting technique that involves applying molten beeswax mixed with pigment to a surface and then fusing each layer with heat to create vibrant, textured artwork.
This ancient method was used by the ancient Egyptians and is still practiced today, prized for its versatility, depth of colour, and unique tactile quality.
Wax is melted on the iron hotplate and then used to create wonderfully vivid and textured images on non absorbent card. If you don't like the image created at first, you can simply melt it away and start again.
This workshop is great for card makers and those that want to try something a little bit different.
Please Note: You will be working with tools that can get very hot.
