Can you tell me about Carley’s Yard?
In the Spring of 2026, EJaRt Creative moved their Gallery, Workshops and Studio Space to this beautiful quirky, Grade 2 Listed Building, situated in the heart of Framlingham, just behind the Market Hill and along from the famous Castle.
Dating back to around 1860, the building was associated with the 19th Century Grocery business of Samuel Green Carley, who established his Grocery shop on the Market Hill and became one of the foremost grocery businesses in the county.
Regular Customers had a Gold embossed red account book and their orders were delivered. The business became Carley and Webb and continued trading until quite recently.
The new setting has been sympathetically renovated to maintain its authentic charm, but with modern heating and amenities, to suit our needs.
Offering the same warm, welcoming and inspiring atmosphere you knew and loved, we were confident this new space would be a wonderful new home for our Creative Community.
Escape, relax, unwind…let the creativity flow!
Can you tell me about Framlingham?
Framlingham is a quaint Historic Market Town in Suffolk, surrounded by rural countryside, just 12 or so miles from the unspoilt East Anglian Coastline and only 10-15 minutes away from our original roots and is easily accessible to all.
With Anglo Saxon origins, the town is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) Renowned for its 12th Century English Heritage Castle where Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen in 1553. The Castle served as a significant centre of power for the Dukes of Norfolk for over 400 years.
Known as the “Jewel in Suffolk’s Crown”, it offers a bustling central Marketplace, independent shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and a thriving and developing art community. A truly inspirational landscape for any Artist.
